Located at 3400 meters above sea level, Hostería de Altura El Peñón is a haven of comfort in the vast, desolate and incredibly beautiful Puna Argentina (High Altitude Desert). It is the perfect base for exploring natural wonders, such as Laguna Grande where thousands of flamingos gather in spectacular surroundings, the immense Dunas Blancas, the impressive extension of the Natural Reserve, Campo de Piedra Pómez or the Oasis of Antofalla, inhabited by about 60 people and located on the edge of one of the most important salt flats in South America. The Hotel is also an excellent starting point for expeditions to Volcán Galán, Volcán Peinado and beyond.
